It took longer than expected, but Oldham County has its desired rematch with North Oldham in the district tournament finals.

The Colonels (24-4) easily dispatched Trimble County (16-10) 77-31 in the first round of district play Wednesday night.

Its senior leaders, Hayden Hawes and Connor Hicks, paced Oldham County in the first quarter en route to a 24-12 lead. But once Trimble packed packing in the middle and defending on the wings, the rest of Colonels took over and never looked back, leading by 25 at half.
