  • Boys Lacrosse: South Oldham wins...

    For the fourth consecutive season, South Oldham boys lacrosse won the Region 4 title. The Dragons jumped out to an early lead and held off a second-half rally to defeat North Oldham 16-10 in Crestwood Thursday night.

  • Griffin signs with U of L

    South Oldham senior Jo Griffin signed with the University of Louisville Thursday afternoon to continue to his academic and athletic career collegiately. Griffin accepted a walk-on spot in late February with the U of L men’s basketball team.

  • Track and Field: Class AAA...

    The Class AAA Region 4 meet took place Tuesday with spots in the state championship track meet at stake. In each region, the first and second place finishers in each event automatically qualify for the state meet.

    The next 10 best performances in each event, per class, from the state-at-large qualifies for the state meet next weekend in Lexington (May 19-20).

  • Track & Field: Sundown...

    With a constant downpour of chilling rain, more than a dozen track and field teams competed in the Sundown Invitational last Thursday at Oldham County High School. Some student-athletes were withheld from participating in some events in preparation for the regional track meet Tuesday.

  • Always Dreaming wins Kentucky...

    Always Dreaming won the 143rd running of the Kentucky Derby by 2-and-three-and-fourths lengths at Churchill Downs Saturday.

    McCraken, who trains at Skylight Training Center in Goshen, finished eighth. Trainer Ian Wilkes said he got a great ride from McCraken. 

  • Oldham County connections at Oaks

    Trainers and horses from Oldham County competed in the 13 races on Oaks Day at Churchill Downs.

    Though sports like baseball, softball, lacrosse, tennis and track are traditionally the primary sports in March and April, spring football practices wrapped up last week for all three local high school teams.

    The 2017 season will kick off in less than four months.
