  • North Oldham captures the Oldham...

After a slow start to open the annual Oldham Cup event, the North Oldham boys’ golf team made sure to make the third and final round count, racking up 7.5 of a possible 8 points to pry the trophy away from two-time defending champion Oldham County.

  • Oldham County Eagles win state...

While wet weather didn’t stop the Oldham County Eagles from capturing a Special Olympics state championship on Sept. 9, it certainly made things a little more difficult as the double-elimination tournament shifted to a single-elimination format due to heavy rain in Bowling Green.

Sharing a bracket with the Northern Kentucky Cobras and Pitt Academy, two stumbling blocks for the Eagles all season, didn’t help either.

If there was any doubt who the top team in the 29th district was, the North Oldham Lady Mustangs dispelled it Tuesday night, dispatching rival South Oldham in dominant fashion 3-1 behind strong play from freshman Casey Foote and seniors Madison Tinder and Amanda Marques.

  • OCHS trounces Covington Holy...

Coming off a three game stretch where seemingly nothing would go right for Oldham County, the Colonels showed out Friday night, blitzing Covington Holy Cross 48-21.

OC got plenty of yards from plenty of players on offense but Jacob Taylor was the real star of the night, racking up 180 yards and four scores on the ground and reeling in three passes for 60 yards and another score.

The Colonels return to the field Friday, Sept. 21, as they host Shelby County in a game scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m.

  • South Oldham tops North in...

Billed as one of the biggest games of the season, Friday night’s collision between North and South Oldham certainly didn’t disappoint, taking all of four quarters and two overtime periods to crown a champion.

When the dust did finally settle however, South Oldham was the team on top, unseating the previously unbeaten Mustangs 43-42 to stake their claim as the class of the county.

  • South Oldham volleyball team...

One game into Thursday night’s volleyball showdown between rivals Oldham County and South Oldham, things didn’t look good for head coach Amy Grimm and her Lady Dragons.

  • Oldham County beats South Oldham...

In sports, a short memory is often a very good thing. The Oldham County boys’ soccer team can certainly attest to that. After dropping a game on penalty kicks to North Oldham Wednesday night, the Colonels rebounded nicely just a day later, dispatching South Oldham 2-0.
