  • SOHS, NOHS prepare for district...

Though they’re already half way through their respective seasons, both North and South Oldham will have the chance to pick up big wins Friday night as they take on district opponents.

For the Dragons, that chance will come against a 3-2 Grant County team that has been on a roll as of late.

  • NOHS’s Katie Posto top local...

Though the weather outside was beautiful Monday afternoon at Long Run golf course, play on it wasn’t quite as nice as several area teams struggled to find their footing during the regional girls’ golf tournament.

The three local schools wouldn’t be the exception.

Though several came close, including North Oldham’s Katie Posto and Oldham County’s Jacque McMillen, no Oldham County golfer managed to qualify for the state tournament in 2012.

  • North Oldham claims 29th...

Touted as the class of the 29th district for the better part of the season, the North Oldham Mustangs made it official Wednesday night, ousting Oldham County 3-0 to claim the regular season championship, their second in as many years.

  • South Oldham edges Conner 63-57...

If South Oldham fans didn't know any better, they might have thought basketball season started early as the Dragons got on the gas early Friday night and never let up, edging host Conner in a 63-57 shootout. More importantly than just a victory though, the win moves the Dragons to 1-0 in district play.

  • Oldham County falls 33-16 to...

Matt Brown knows his Oldham County squad still has plenty of strides to make on both sides of the ball to get where they want to go. But if the first half of last night's game with Shelby County is any indication, they're well on their way.

Though they ultimately fell just short, dropping a heartbreaking 33-16 loss to the Rockets, a strong defensive effort in the opening 24 minutes kept the game close at 6-3 at the half.

  • South Oldham boys earns top seed...

Though the North Oldham and Oldham County boys' soccer teams will technically square off in the last district game of the season Wednesday night, the race for the No. 1 tournament seed was all but decided last weekend as a scrappy South Oldham upended the Mustangs 4-1.

That will mean a lot for the Dragons as the title of district's team will earn them a slot in the regional tournament regardless of what happens in mid-October.

  • Local schools garner top...

The North Oldham boys' cross country tream checks in in first place in the KYtrackXC.com Class AA State Cross Country Rankings, while South Oldham holds down the top spot in the girls' rankings.

  • Oldham County improves to 3-0 in...

The Oldham County Lady Colonels had a game to remember Wednesday night, wrapping up a regular season district championship with a 3-0 win over North Oldham. More than just a win though, what really stood out was the way in which they executed.

  • North Oldham captures the Oldham...

After a slow start to open the annual Oldham Cup event, the North Oldham boys’ golf team made sure to make the third and final round count, racking up 7.5 of a possible 8 points to pry the trophy away from two-time defending champion Oldham County.
