In 1976, Jim Wilhite’s life changed in an instant. After a motorcycle accident claimed the use of his right leg, he was left with plenty of questions.
Now, 36 years later, he’s found some answers — answers he hopes will help other amputees struggling to see the bigger picture.
“In the beginning, you’re not really sure which way to go,” Wilhite noted, “but as life continues on you learn you can do what everybody else does.”
Wilhite, who uses crutches, said it just takes time to adjust.
