  • OC, South host Senior Nights...

Oldham County will look to close the regular season with a win at 7:30 p.m. Friday against Jeffersontown.

The Colonels (2-7, 0-3 Class 6A, District 5) lost their fourth straight last Friday when they fell 39-13 to Ballard in their final district game.

Quarterback Jeremiah Bosco went 11-of-18 for 82 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

OC beat J’Town 16-12 last season and has won five of the last six meetings.

  • North football sees district...

SHELBYVILLE – If it could’ve gone wrong for North Oldham football Friday night, it did.

That’s how Mustang coach Billy Martin diagnosed North’s 35-6 loss at Titan Stadium, a defeat that cost the Mustangs a chance to win Class 4A, District 3 outright.

North (6-3, 3-1 district) instead finishes second in the district behind Collins (7-2, 4-0) and must go on the road if it makes the second round of the playoffs.

  • Q&A: Scouting Bowling Green

North Oldham will continue its postseason run against Region 4 champion Bowling Green at 5 p.m. Saturday at Henry Clay High School in Lexington. The Era talked with Zach Greenwell, prep sports reporter at the Bowling Green Daily News, to learn more about the Purples in advance of Saturday’s game.

Q: What has Bowling Green done well this season to get to the state quarterfinals for the second straight year?

  • Oldham home to some quality...

It’s been a pretty special soccer season this fall here in town.

The last two weeks especially have showcased just how competitive the beautiful game is in our county.

North Oldham, Oldham County and South Oldham’s boys and girls soccer teams have spent the recent days going through the postseason, from districts to region to state. During that time the county has showed it’s far and away the soccer class of Region 8.
