    Young's big performance lifted South Oldham to a 51-19 halftime lead and eventually to an 88-60 win over Trimble Wednesday night at North Oldham in the first round of the District 29 tournament.

    GOSHEN -- Heavily favored Oldham County needed a shot in the arm early Wednesday night in its District 29 tournament opener against North Oldham.

    The Lady Colonels got one from their star player.

    Ashley McMurtrey scored a career-high 41 points in just three quarters as OC ended North's season, 71-33, Wednesday night at North.

    OC (14-9) clinched a berth to next week's Region 8 tournament and a spot in Friday's district championship game, where it'll meet the winner of Thursday night's South Oldham vs. Trimble County game.
