  • Franklin ends South's...

CRESTWOOD – Friday night's result between South Oldham and Franklin County wasn't reflective of the teams on the field, according to South coach Jamie Reed.

“The better team didn't win tonight” Reed said. “That's for certain.'

But it was a combination of Dragon errors and a monster performance by Franklin County's Chris Roberts that led to a 27-21 overtime Flyers win Friday at Dragon Stadium in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.

  • North runs over Western to...

LOUISVILLE ‑‑ All it took was one play for North Oldham to exert its dominance over fellow Class 4A school Western on the Warriors' home field Friday night.

North running back Arien Beasley raced 60 yards for a touchdown on the very first play from scrimmage and the Mustangs (9-3) never looked back in a 49-6 rout of the Warriors (6-6).

“We played really well, in all phases of the game,” North coach Billy Martin said. “It was a dominating performance I knew our guys were capable of.”
