     It wasn’t too long ago when Brian Hood retired after 26 years as an environmental consultant, bought a boat and decided to live on the water.

    Then he got bored.

    His son Jon, the 2009 Kentucky Gatorade Player of the Year who went on to play at the University of Kentucky for four years, made the next step for his father pretty simple.

     North Oldham softball will have the ultimate home field advantage in the District 29 softball tournament May 18-21.

    The Lady Mustangs will not only play host to Oldham County, South Oldham and Trimble County for a spot in the Region 8 Tournament, but they enter as the top-seed with a 16-10 record overall and a 5-1 mark in district play. They will play No. 4 South Oldham (1-16, 0-6) May 18 at 5:30 p.m.
