    Meanwhile OC's girls basketball game at Breckinridge County that was scheduled for Friday night has been canceled, according to Lady Colonel coach Jace Bryant.

    Oldham County has interviewed six candidates for its vacant football head coaching position and still has "two or three" interviews left to conduct, OC athletics director Kevin Combs told The Era Thursday.

    OC's search committee began interviewing candidates earlier this month and hopes to wrap up its interviews by early next week, Combs said.

    A coach will likely be in place by the end of the month, Combs said.

    CRESTWOOD –  Taekwondo has given Daba Modibo Keita the chance to compete in the Olympics and hold the title of world champion.

    Keita got the chance to give some of that back this weekend.

    GOSHEN – North Oldham coach Chris Stobaugh has conceded the fact his Mustangs will be locked in close games all year.

    “We’re not going to blow anybody out and we’re good enough not to get blown out,” Stobaugh said, “so every game’s going to be close.”

    North won another close one Tuesday night, beating Spencer County 53-50 on its home floor.

    Oldham County wrswent 1-1-1 at the Columbus East Duals last weekend in Indiana.

    The Colonels beat Greenwood (Ind.) 41-25, lost to Columbus East (Ind.) 33-29 and tied with Lawrence North (Ind.) 29-29.
