  • Pratt: Anticipating my first...

Two days from now, I’ll make a huge check mark on my bucket list. Growing up a sports fan in Tennessee, the Kentucky Derby was something we only acknowledged. For just a few — maybe 10 — minutes on the first Saturday in May, I would tune into NBC to watch the Derby. I had no wager or care for who won. I just watched it to fulfill my curiosity of the biggest sporting event that day.

  • Right for Ray: South Oldham...

There wasn’t anything special about the pregame routine for the North Oldham and South Oldham girls lacrosse Tuesday evening in Goshen. South Oldham coach Bob Newton began announcing his team’s lineup. No surprises with the starters until he called the last name.

    “Hannah!” he shouted.

And there was senior Hannah Ray. Standing near the outside of the huddle and like she had all season, not given any thought to her name in the lineup.
