Inclement weather has affected the county high school sports schedule.

Several games were postponed over the last week as a result of a winter storm that rolled into town last Friday.

North Oldham’s boys basketball home game vs. Fern Creek was postponed from Dec. 6 to Jan. 25.

Oldham County’s girls basketball home game vs. Bullitt Central was postponed from Dec. 6 to Dec. 23.

  • OC rallies past Anderson, moves...

BUCKNER – Oldham County is making a habit of coming from behind to win.

The Colonels trailed Harrison County and DeSales by more than 10 points in the first half of those respective games before battling back for victories.

Tuesday OC was right back in familiar territory, trailing Region 8 foe Anderson County 31-17 midway through the second quarter. Once again the Colonels regained their composure and struck back, this time using a big third quarter in a 79-71 win.

  • Bad shooting night, early...

CRESTWOOD – When South Oldham's guard-heavy squad is making shots, there's not many teams that'll be able to keep up.

But when the Dragons go 5-of-24 from 3-point range and shoot 29 percent from the floor like they did Monday against Collins, that's a different story.

The Titans cruised past South 60-42 Monday in an early battle of two teams expected to contend for the boys Region 8 crown. Collins' Ralphie Stone scored 16 off the bench in the win, while Deion Cochran added 15 for the Titans.

  • No. 4 Manual too much for OC...

BUCKNER – Manual kept bringing in the reinforcements Tuesday and Oldham County didn't have the horses to keep up.

Eleven different Lady Crimsons scored as No. 4 Manual beat OC 79-48 in each team's season opener.

The Lady Crimsons' depth wore down the Lady Colonels as the game went on, OC coach Jace Bryant said.

“When you can play 15-deep,” Bryant said, “and you can bring in athlete, athlete, athlete and we're going seven-deep, it's tough.”
