  • Lady Colonels beat North, clinch...

    BUCKNER – Oldham County’s first two district tilts were drama-filled wins against Trimble County and South Oldham, putting OC on the cusp of a regular season district title.

    The Lady Colonels avoided drama in clinching said title Wednesday night.

    OC forced a running clock against cross-town foe North Oldham, beating the visiting Lady Mustangs 73-38. The win clinches a perfect regular season district record for OC (7-7, 3-0 District 29).

    South Oldham can clinch a regular season district crown Tuesday night, but the Dragons will have to take care of a tough rival on the road in order to do it.

    South will make the short drive to North Oldham Tuesday night to take on the Mustangs at 7:30.

    BUCKNER – Oldham County crawled up from a deep valley Tuesday against Walton-Verona. The only problem was that once the Lady Colonels reached the top of the hill, they slipped and fell right back down.

    Playing its first game in nearly two weeks, OC came back from a 16-point deficit Tuesday to take a fourth quarter lead, only to see the Bearcats regain control and win 65-58.
