  • Boys Basketball: South tops...

    South Oldham boys basketball held off a fourth quarter comeback by DeSales to win its season opener 81-70. Devin Young finished with a game-high 26 points on seven 3-pointers and Luke Morrison added 19 points as South Oldham scored 11 of the final 15 points in the last four minutes after DeSales closed its deficit to three midway through the fourth quarter.

  • Girls Basketball: South wins...

    The backcourt combination of Payton Herold and Zoey Holland paced South Oldham girls basketball to a hot start as the Dragons defeated Collegiate 74-42 Monday night in the season opener for both teams. Herold and Holland combined for 29 first half points as South Oldham jumped out to a 15-2 first quarter lead that was never threatened.

Well beyond the sideline, where the fifth or sixth row of bleachers would be during a game, senior Austin Young dives after the loose ball.

    Covington Catholic football showed why it has been ranked as the top team in Class 5-A, defeating South Oldham 49-7 in Crestwood to win the Region 2 title and advance to the state semi-finals. The Dragons fell behind early and were never able to recover against a team that has won all 13 games this season by 21 or more points.

    Everyone sitting on the home side of the stands may have been in panic mode as South Oldham football faced a 13-point deficit with eight minutes left in the second round of the Class 5-A playoffs, but the rallying cry “no one beats the Dragons in the fourth quarter” held true and South Oldham defeated Highlands 35-34 in a come-from-behind victory.
