The spring of 2013 was a time Connor John’s life changed on and off the football field.

His family moved from Southington, Conn., where he’d lived since fourth grade, to Crestwood for his father’s job.

Suddenly John was a sophomore at South Oldham, a place where he didn’t know anyone.

He adapted to his new surroundings by playing football.

“When I first moved here it sucked,” John said. “You miss your friends, you miss what you used to know.

CRESTWOOD – A stingy defense and the finishing abilities of senior forward Christian Lister put South Oldham in the district driver’s seat Tuesday.

Lister scored three second-half goals and the Dragon defense didn’t allow Oldham County to put a shot on goal until the final minute. That combination added up to a 3-0 South win on a chilly night at Dragon Stadium.

Tuesday’s win marked the Dragons’ first shutout of the Colonels in six years.
