  • Region 8 baseball tournament:...

SHELBYVILLE — Oldham County’s offense couldn’t quite match its defensive play when it needed to the most. Despite a big day from junior ace Griffin McLarty, the Colonels bats were absent and Simon Kenton did just enough to move on to the regional tournament with a 4-0 win over Oldham County Monday in the first round of the Region 8 tournament at Shelby County.

Charles had Oldham County’s best individual result Saturday at the KHSAA Class 3A Track and Field Championships with a fourth place finish in the 300-meter hurdles in 39.98 seconds.
