Tuesday the KHSAA announced the proposed football alignments for the 2015-18 seasons.

The changes reflected teams voluntarily “moving up” in class and those taking the opportunity to drop a level. The latter category includes Oldham County, which is slated to move from Class 6A to 5A starting in 2015.

North Oldham’s proposed district, Class 4A, District 4, will also include Collins, Franklin County and Spencer County.

Oldham County and South Oldham are one step closer to playing in the same football district starting in 2015.

The KHSAA Board of Control approved a draft of the football alignment for the 2015-18 seasons Tuesday.

The draft was configured after schools were given the option of "playing up" a class, or moving down a class if the opportunity was available. Oldham County made such a move, going from 6A to 5A.

The 2015-18 alignment will be presented to the membership before likely being finalized during the Board's May meeting.
