She and her teammates were more focused on the precise defense and explosive offense they played that when they saw Eads’ individual performance, it was just icing on the cake.

    The North Oldham girls track and field team did so in dominant fashion to win the Class 2-A, Region 3 title for the fifth year in a row with 191 points Wednesday evening at Christian Academy of Louisville.

    The KHSAA State Track and Field Championships will begin this Friday with Class 2-A at 4:30 p.m. at the University of Kentucky.

    The North Oldham Lady Mustangs are the two-time defending state champions in 2-A.

    South Oldham and Oldham County will compete in the 3-A meet at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. South's Cole Dowdy is the reigning champion in the 3,200 meter run.
