    For the fourth consecutive year, South Oldham baseball claimed the District 29 tournament title after defeating Oldham County 2-1 in the district final at Trimble County Tuesday night. South Oldham starting pitcher Will Moriarty allowed one run in seven innings and the Dragons rallied for two runs in their final at bat for their seventh straight win.

    The 3-A KHSAA state championship track and field canceled the final two events (boys and girls 4-by-400 relays) due to inclement weather, but several student-athletes from Oldham County and South Oldham placed in the meet last Saturday in Lexington.

    South Oldham baseball sealed a spot in the Eighth Region tournament for the sixth consecutive year with a 11-0 win over Trimble County in the District 29 semi-finals Monday night. Brennan LaBarbera threw a complete game shutout and Tanner Johnson went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs.

    For the first time in program history, Oldham County girls lacrosse will be playing in the Region 4 championship game after defeating North Oldham 12-5 Monday night in the regional semi-finals. Seniors Aubrey Curell and Abi Kainer each scored three goals for Oldham County while Shannen Roy scored four goals for the Lady Mustangs.

    After a week away from games because of rainy weather, Oldham County softball stretched its winning streak to seven with a sweep of a doubleheader against Fern Creek and Boone County last Friday. The Lady Colonels’ offense scored 26 runs in the two games.

    For the fourth consecutive season, South Oldham boys lacrosse won the Region 4 title. The Dragons jumped out to an early lead and held off a second-half rally to defeat North Oldham 16-10 in Crestwood Thursday night.

    The Class AAA Region 4 meet took place Tuesday with spots in the state championship track meet at stake. In each region, the first and second place finishers in each event automatically qualify for the state meet.

    The next 10 best performances in each event, per class, from the state-at-large qualifies for the state meet next weekend in Lexington (May 19-20).
