  • South Oldham's simple man

South Oldham baseball has a new look this year, but it’s a trend that takes one back in time. Stirrups and shorter baseball pants are now replacing the modern trend of long pants worn to a players’ ankles. If you take a picture of the team on the field and made it black and white it would look like a picture from your grandfather’s playing days.

That spark turned into a wildfire.

The Mustangs scored seven runs off of eight hits in the fifth inning to claim a 7-0 win over Fairdale Wednesday night in their home opener in Goshen.

  • ROUNDING THE BASES: St. X too...

LOUISVILLE - Playing the defending state champions is never an easy task. Even if you’re Oldham County, which got the best of St. Xavier last season in a similar late March contest.

Behind a stubborn defense and the arm of ace Scott Spurlock, St. X returned the favor Monday night by shutting out the Colonels 4-0 in Louisville.
