    Oldham County track and field edged out New Albany to finish first in the annual Oldham County Kick Off Classic on Friday night in Buckner.

    The Colonels (109 points) edged past New Albany (108 points) for first place while South Oldham and North Oldham placed fourth and ninth, respectively, in the 11-team competition.

    When he was younger, Reed Gabhart found out he wasn’t suited to be a sprinter, but a 100-meter dash doesn’t seem too difficult compared to the running he decided upon. The head of campus at St. Francis School in Goshen recently finished the Tokyo Marathon, which was the final of six marathon races needed to complete all of the Abbott World Marathon Majors.

    Behind an eight-run second inning outburst, Oldham County softball defeated South Oldham 12-2 on Tuesday night to stay undefeated and picked up their first district win of the season.

    Through the first week of the season, Oldham County softball’s offense has churned out production as well as any team in the state. The Lady Colonels are averaging nearly 20 runs per game on their way to a 4-0 start.   

  • Boys Basketball: Anderson County...

    Behind the backcourt of Cobe Penny and Dylan Pittman that combined to score 36 points, Anderson County defeated South Oldham 65-56 in the Eighth Region semi-final. The Dragons suffered a two-and-a-half minute scoring drought in the final three minutes of the fourth quarter after closing a once 11-point deficit to four.

  • Boys Basketball: South Oldham...

    South Oldham used a fourth quarter surge to advance to the semi-finals of the Eighth Region tournament. The Dragons defeated District 32 winner Walton Verona 76-64 after going on a 12-1 run in the first three minutes of the final period of play.

    Devin Young scored a team-high 20 points and Jo Griffin added 16 for the Dragons.

  • Boys Basketball: Collins defeats...

    After a year plagued with injuries, a fully healthy Collins team ended Oldham County’s season in the first round of the Eighth Region tournament at Henry County on Wednesday night. The Titans used a run late in the third quarter to take their first lead in the second half and held off a feverish Colonel comeback in the final minutes to win 62-59.
