  • ROUNDING THE BASES: North Oldham...

GOSHEN - In what was unfolding into a pure defensive game, all North Oldham needed was a spark to get going on offense.

That spark turned into a wildfire.

The Mustangs scored seven runs off of eight hits in the fifth inning to claim a 7-0 win over Fairdale Wednesday night in their home opener in Goshen.

  • ROUNDING THE BASES: St. X too...

LOUISVILLE - Playing the defending state champions is never an easy task. Even if you’re Oldham County, which got the best of St. Xavier last season in a similar late March contest.

Behind a stubborn defense and the arm of ace Scott Spurlock, St. X returned the favor Monday night by shutting out the Colonels 4-0 in Louisville.

  • TRACK & FIELD: North Oldham...

LOUISVILLE - North Oldham’s mission last season was to make noise in the regional tournament. Consider that mission accomplished with a dominating team performance to claim the Class 2A, Region 3 track and field championships for the boys and girls teams. For the girls, that success carried over into their first state title with the boys finishing runner-up.
