Colby Smith, 12, of Pewee Valley was one of five young Kentucky hunters selected out of 805 applicants to participate in the Youth Elk Hunt in Breathitt County. On Sept. 23, Smith shot this 297-class bull. Smith shot from 278 yards using father Mark Smith’s .300 Win Mag. The bull was 736 pounds field-dressed.
