    The 26th annual South Oldham Dragon Invitational was hosted in Buckner last Saturday, with runners from North Oldham, South Oldham and Oldham County competing in a full-day of cross country races.

  • Soccer: Colonels win district title

    For the third straight year, Oldham County boys soccer capture the District 29 tournament title. The Colonels defeated North Oldham 4-1 Saturday in Buckner as junior Luke O’Hara had a goal and two assists.

    The intra-county rivalry game was a rematch of last year’s district and regional final, which the teams split.

  • Oldham girls, North boys win regional meet

    A week before the KHSAA state meet at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Oldham County boys and girls cross country and North Oldham boys and girls cross country teams qualified for the state race.

  • Colonel soccer falls in state quarterfinals

    St. Xavier (Louisville) defeated Oldham County 6-1 in the KHSAA boys state soccer tournament quarterfinals Saturday at Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington. A flurry of three St. X goals in a 73-second span in the second half denied any chance of a Colonel comeback after Oldham County fell behind 2-0 in the first half.

  • Lady Mustang volleyball wins district

    After the two teams split the regular season matches, North Oldham volleyball defeated Oldham County in four sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18) in the District 29 final, the Lady Mustangs seventh consecutive district tournament title.

    In a potential preview of the Eighth Region final, North Oldham defeated Oldham County in straight sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-23) Tuesday in Goshen. The teams have met in the regional final four consecutive years, and once again, are ranked as the two top teams in the Eighth Region.

    The hottest team in the Eighth Region stretched its winning streak to five in a district rivalry Wednesday night. Oldham County boys soccer defeated South Oldham 4-1 in Buckner behind three first-half goals as the Colonels swept the regular season matches between South Oldham and North Oldham for the third consecutive year.

    Oldham County volleyball kept its Eighth Region record perfect with a three set victory (25-17, 25-18, 26-24) over South Oldham Thursday night in Buckner. The Lady Colonels played an aggressive match offensively to win in straight sets.

    Before the game, Oldham County coach Libbey Smith downplayed the emotional presence of the rivalry to her team.
