It will be a new look, in a way, for North Oldham boys basketball this season. Nine seniors make up a majority of the roster, but only a few have substantial varsity minutes under their belt.
There is no way around it, North Oldham girls basketball has been young for the past several years. Though it can be argued the Mustangs are still a young team considering a majority of the roster is made up of sophomores and juniors, the group doesn’t lack varsity experience.
The 2017 KHSAA Cross Country state championship meet was hosted at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington last Saturday. Runners from North Oldham, South Oldham and Oldham County competed in the 5K run.
North Oldham volleyball defeated Meade County in straight sets (25-13, 27-25, 25-20) in the first round of the KHSAA state tournament Friday. Addison Foote finished with 13 kills and Gabby Roberts added 12 while Brie Postema tallied 33 assists.
A week before the KHSAA state meet at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Oldham County boys and girls cross country and North Oldham boys and girls cross country teams qualified for the state race.

North Oldham volleyball is making a habit of winning the Eighth Region title. For the fourth straight year, the Mustangs will represent their region in the KHSAA state tournament next week following a straight set (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) victory over Oldham County Thursday night.
For the the fifth year in a row, North Oldham and Oldham County volleyball meet in the Eighth Region final following victories in the semi-finals Wednesday night.

After losing in the regional final for two straight years, Oldham County defeated North Oldham 3-2 Thursday to win the Eighth Region title and advance to the KHSAA state tournament for the first time since 2011.
After the two teams split the regular season matches, North Oldham volleyball defeated Oldham County in four sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18) in the District 29 final, the Lady Mustangs seventh consecutive district tournament title.
