    North Oldham volleyball is making a habit of winning the Eighth Region title. For the fourth straight year, the Mustangs will represent their region in the KHSAA state tournament next week following a straight set (25-19, 25-21, 25-19) victory over Oldham County Thursday night.

    A third time was a charm for Oldham County boys soccer.

    After losing in the regional final for two straight years, Oldham County defeated North Oldham 3-2 Thursday to win the Eighth Region title and advance to the KHSAA state tournament for the first time since 2011.

  • Lady Mustang volleyball wins district

    After the two teams split the regular season matches, North Oldham volleyball defeated Oldham County in four sets (25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 25-18) in the District 29 final, the Lady Mustangs seventh consecutive district tournament title.

    Though neither team thought it played well in the Eighth Region semi-final matches, North Oldham and Oldham County boys soccer each claimed victories Tuesday night to set up a rematch of last year’s regional final.

    For the second straight year, North Oldham boys soccer defeated South Oldham in the District 29 tournament semi-finals. The Mustangs’ 2-0 victory guarantees a spot in the Eighth Region tournament and slates North Oldham for a rematch against Oldham County in the district final.

  • Soccer: Girls District 29 semi-finals

    The pressure was there, and there was no sense in fighting it. North Oldham coach Jair Trivino wanted his team to get as comfortable as it could as quickly as it could in the win-or-go-home district semi-final against South Oldham.

    North Oldham boys soccer scored five goals in its 5-1 victory over Spencer County last Saturday, but none were more special than the Mustangs’ first ball put in the back of the net.

    North Oldham football coach Joe Gamsky wanted his team to make a statement two weeks after his team snapped the longest losing streak in school history. He thought the Mustangs did make that statement in the second half, resulting in a 34-14 victory over Spencer County Friday night in Goshen.
