  • Mustangs win regional track crown

    LOUISVILLE – The individual honors didn’t count for much for the North Oldham High School boys’ track team as they won the regional title behind their depth and across the board strength in both the running and field events.
    The Mustangs took the AA team title with 119 points, ahead of runner-up Louisville Central with 96. South Oldham was fourth with 70 points.

  • Martin retires from coaching Lady Mustangs

    GOSHEN – After spending most of her life associated with basketball, North Oldham High School Lady Mustangs’ coach Nancy Martin has decided to call it quits.
    Martin, the only head coach the NOHS program has had since it opened seven years ago, decided last week to resign.

  • Evans holds No. 1 sport in two events

    GOSHEN – At 5-foot-9 Zach Evans hardly strikes the long, lean figure of a typical hurdler but the North Oldham High School junior has used his natural speed, technique and “funny body,” to gain the No. 1 ranking in the AA state 300-meter hurdles this year.

    GOSHEN – Always blessed with natural speed, Brianne Brown has taken that attribute and turned herself into one of the state’s best long jumpers.
    Brown, a North Oldham High School sophomore started her high school track career with a bang last year by emerging as one of the best sprinters and hurdlers in the AA state competition.

    GOSHEN – She may only be in the seventh grade, but Maddie Waits is well aware of the tradition she is now helping to lead.
    Waits, a North Oldham Middle school student is holding down the No. 1 singles spot for the North Oldham High School girls’ tennis program that has won six straight regional titles.

  • NOHS falls to Spencer County comeback

    NEW CASTLE – In a tale of two halves, a red-hot Spencer County came storming back in the second half to beat North Oldham 60-52 in the regional semifinals Monday.
    The Bears hit nine of 12 from the field and 18 of 20 from the foul line in the second half to overcome a 34-23 deficit and win going away.
    “That was the difference,” NOHS coach David Henley said. “Their guards are really good and they dominated the second half.”

  • Rowan keys Mustangs by Walton-Verona in region

    NEW CASTLE – After almost going unnoticed through much of the game, North Oldham High School junior center Devon Rowan came through with three key plays in the final 30 seconds to help the Mustangs defeat Walton-Verona 55-54 in the opening round of the Eighth Region tourney Thursday.
