While Oldham County softball waited for the big inning offensively to come, Allison Vialpando pitched her best game of the season. The freshman threw a no-hitter and the Lady Colonels scored 10 runs in the final two innings as Oldham County defeated North Oldham 10-0 to improve to 3-0 in district play.
Behind a stellar pitching performance by Will Moriarty and a small-ball approach, South Oldham baseball defeated North Oldham 4-2 Monday night in Crestwood. Moriarty pitched a complete game, allowing three hits, three walks and one earned run while striking out 11 hitters. Cam Revolt went 1 for 2 and scored two runs for South Oldham.
North Oldham baseball evened the regular season series against South Oldham with a 9-5 win on Wednesday night in Goshen. Mustang senior Max Sander pitched five innings to earn the win and Logan Beard hit a grand slam as North Oldham picked up its second district win of the season.
South Oldham Middle School eighth graders Eloise Brown and Caroline Adams and South Oldham High School senior Adam Osborne served as pages for Senator Ernie Harris during the recent legislative session. Brown is the president of the Beta Club. Adams is its vice president.
The Prospect Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the grand opening of Crossroads IGA in Prospect on April 12. The 12,000 square-foot store will feature grab and go meals, locally sourced produce and grocery essentials. The store is located at 13124 West Highway 42.
The South Oldham Fire Auxiliary will host the third annual South Oldham Fire Run, benefitting the WHAS Crusade for Children, Resources for Our Emergency Service Team (REST) and South Oldham Fire Auxiliary on Sunday, May 28, at 7 p.m.
Tri-County Community Action Agency’s Board of Directors will meet on Thursday, April 20, at 10 a.m. at the Trimble County Cooperative Extension Office at 43 High Country Lane in Bedford. The public is invited to attend.
