Jordan Poppleton escaped several jams to throw a complete game as South Oldham defeated North Oldham 6-1, their first win over the Lady Mustangs since 2013. Poppleton stranded nine runners on base and allowed one run while Mikayla Benson went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored.
South Oldham girls lacrosse jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the first half against North Oldham and held off a feverish second half rally to win 13-8 in Goshen Tuesday night. Freshman Hailey Crittenden led the Lady Dragons with three goals while Caleigh Spoon, Trinity Danielson, BZ Janes, Megan Barnes and Riley Brashear added two goals apiece.
North Oldham baseball evened the regular season series against South Oldham with a 9-5 win on Wednesday night in Goshen. Mustang senior Max Sander pitched five innings to earn the win and Logan Beard hit a grand slam as North Oldham picked up its second district win of the season.
While Oldham County softball waited for the big inning offensively to come, Allison Vialpando pitched her best game of the season. The freshman threw a no-hitter and the Lady Colonels scored 10 runs in the final two innings as Oldham County defeated North Oldham 10-0 to improve to 3-0 in district play.
