The final minute may have been too close for comfort, but the Oldham County boys basketball team outlasted 10th-ranked North Hardin for a 63-58 on Tuesday night. Jackson Gibson scored 25 points and Ismail Jones added 14 points for the Colonels in their season opener.
South Oldham football’s historic season came to a close on Friday night in the state semi-final round to Pulaski County. The Dragons set a program record in wins (12) and started 9-0 for the first time in program history.
The woods were lovely, dark and deep in Goshen at the Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve’s Nature of Christmas event Dec. 3. The nature preserve’s Christmas celebration included a holiday bazaar, s’mores, a hay ride, a visit from Santa and other attractions.
Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele recently announced a project to help residents give a second life to their fresh trees after the holidays. The trees will be recycled into mulch at no cost to residents as the holidays come to a close.
The City of La Grange held its annual Light Up La Grange Saturday night throughout the downtown area. Attendees enjoyed visits with Santa, live music, business specials, face painting, hot chocolate, candy canes and more.
For the second consecutive year, South Oldham boys basketball is 4-0 after a 97-54 win over Grant County on Friday night. Joe Griffin scored 19 of his game-high 22 points in the first half and Aaron Franklin made seven 3-pointers as the Dragons cruised to victory.
