A public meeting will be held Oct. 1 to discuss a plan to widen Interstate 71 to three lanes between the Gene Snyder Freeway in Jefferson County and Highway 329 in Oldham County. The intent of the meeting will be to inform the public of the plan and answer any questions about the project.

A new welcome center will be opening on La Grange’s Main Street.
The new La Grange Welcome Center will be located at 208 East Main Street, near the city’s square and crossroads districts. Many of the city’s businesses are near this area, which was a factor in the choice of location.

On Sept. 24, Operation Outreach partnered with the American Legion Post 39 to bring Oldham County Vietnam Veterans to the John Black Community Center so they could be recognized for their service. Veterans were treated to lunch and given gift bags that included cards made by students of Camden Station, Crestwood and Kenwood Station Elementary Schools.
