For the first time since 1992, South Oldham football is headed to the state semi-finals. The Dragons rallied from a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat North Bullitt 45-42 and win the Class 5-A Region Three title.
Students at Crestwood Elementary celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday with a song and dance on Nov. 18. They also dressed as members of the animal kingdom and sang about what their particular animal would be thankful for, much to the delight of their parents who were invited to attend.
South Oldham coach Steve Simpson believes last year’s state tournament appearance will help drive players to return to Lexington this season. It will be a different group from the team that made a state-record 367 3-pointers last year. Gone are Trenton Bouvet and Jacob Bray, two prolific shooters, but the style of play will remain the same.
