Glad airport won’t come to OC

    To the editor:

Thank you, Oldham County for voting against the airport. I was so relieved to see that this peaceable community decided to take a stand on disturbing the peace.

After living in Louisville the better part of my life, I moved to Oldham County in 2004. The beautiful countryside, the birds, the few farms that are left were wonderful. But more importantly was the peace and serenity that seems to abide here.

     I have a love-hate relationship with being a server.

I’ve worked in restaurants off and on since I was 16, as a hostess, a food runner and when I was old enough, a server. I worked during breaks in college and it was my full-time job the summer after I graduated from college and looked for a job as a reporter.

On Feb. 24, the Planning Commission will consider the first of eight area masters plans called for in Outlook 2020. The Brownsboro Area Master Plan will be presented to the commission for approval.

  • Are we weather wimps?

I’m one of those people. You know the ones. You work with us, and our president is one of us. We come from places north of here and like to try to impress you with stories of snow over our heads or -50-degree days — emphasis on the negative sign — or that we never had a single day off school for snow regardless of how many feet of snow fell the day before.

So you can probably see where this is going.
