  • My personal journey with fasting

    Jesus never demanded that His followers should fast. In the Old Testament, the Jews were commanded to fast on the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:27-32). Since all of Jesus’ disciples were Jewish, it was more noteworthy that they didn’t fast when He was with them (Matthew 9:14-17).

    Every year for the last 22 years I have attended the Festival of Faiths, a nationally acclaimed multi-faith festival of music, poetry, art, film and dialogue with internationally renowned spiritual leaders, practitioners and teachers held here in Louisville.
