  • The Kentucky Derby is like no other

    For a long time, I’ve compared Derby to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, but I didn’t really think it was a good comparison until I actually went. The Derby you see on TV is a very classy, dignified type of thing. It’s quiet, attended by well-dressed and well-composed people. You can almost hear the classical music playing in the background.

  • My personal journey with fasting

    Jesus never demanded that His followers should fast. In the Old Testament, the Jews were commanded to fast on the Day of Atonement (Leviticus 23:27-32). Since all of Jesus’ disciples were Jewish, it was more noteworthy that they didn’t fast when He was with them (Matthew 9:14-17).
