     Wake up!

People, it’s time to wake up, stand up and speak up for our country!  We have a president who tries to hide behind a golf ball to avoid making good, honest decisions regarding the safety and possibly future of our great nation.

     Disappointed with announcement

I’m not sure who to address this letter to, but wanted to tell you how disappointed I was with this article (“Oldham Countian of the Year applications available,” Sept. 10, 2015).  I know it was a submitted article, but wanted to let you know how I felt.

  • Letter to the Editor -- Sept. 10, 2015

Project Guild of La Grange would like to thank the residents and guests of Oldham County for attending the 45th annual Oldham County Day. Thank you Judge David Voegele and the magistrates for the renovation of the courthouse lawn. What a beautiful setting for our “Red, White and Bluegrass” event!

    Think before voting for drink
Having lived in various cities around the country and finally settling in Oldham County, I see what a special gift it is to raise our family in a dry county.
I know, I know...we are already moist. Having restaurants that also serve alcohol is great, and an enjoyment my husband and I take part in, on occasion.  Going from moist to wet makes a difference.

    Thank God for Donald Trump!
He is the most qualified person to be the president of the United States because he has not held an elected position before where he had to accept the money of certain interests to pay back by doing their bidding later on!

    Religious Freedom
I read with interest Mr. DiGiuro’s article on religious freedom in the April 23rd edition.   He dealt with an extremely relevant topic, but left out some important aspects inherent in a well-rounded view of this topic.  If Oldham Countians are to maintain their religious freedom, they must keep in mind a few of the issues our Founding Fathers understood when they penned the First Amendment.

    Identity theft
The recent mailing from the Oldham Chamber & Economic Development was a petition postcard to be printed and signed complete with birth date and Social Security number.
This (these) cards could either be mailed or deposited in an Oldham County Library.
Considering the current problems with identity theft, one thing we should absolutely never do is to put such private information in a public location.
From the text on the card, this mailing apparently went to every registered voter in Oldham County.
