• Work at love

I have had the privilege and the honor of celebrating over a thousand weddings over the years with many wonderful couples.  My goal is to personalize each wedding by meeting with the couple several times, leading the rehearsal and officiating at the wedding ceremony. My wife and I find it very exciting meeting couples in love, pledging their love and commitment to one another.

  • A bridge to peace

    By Ginger Lumpkin

Sometimes, when I am out and about, I realize that I am not quite ready to go home. And by “go home” I don’t mean die and go to heaven. I just mean I need to find some stillness within myself before jumping back into the midst of the household.

  • Senator Ernie Harris' legislative update

    By Ernie Harris

The success of a legislative session is often defined on an issue that emerges out of committee meetings, floor debates and rallies that punctuate the lawmaking process. Last year it was the heroin epidemic. This year Kentucky’s burgeoning pension crisis is the marque issue facing lawmakers.

  • Music: blessing or curse?

  • Seeing "Star Wars"

So, an interesting thing happened on Facebook this week.  I posted a 29 second video of my kid wearing his new Chewbacca mask, and over 350,000 people have viewed it. While it’s nowhere close to viral, it is averaging 50 views per minute which is quite remarkable when you think about it.

  • The problem of too-muchness

If Shakespeare could wonder, “How with this rage shall beauty hold a plea;” if Wordsworth could complain, “The world is too much with us – getting and spending we lay waste our powers,” they should be alive today writing their sonnets – if they had time.  True, we have countless time-saving devices, but we seem to have less and less time to be human.
