LOUISVILLE — Brian “Woody” Underwood passed away peacefully on March 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on Oct. 28, 1972 to Edward and Pamela Underwood in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Woody was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. His loud laugh, compassion, and sense of humor touched the hearts of everyone he met.

He had a passion for the Cincinnati Bengals. On game days he could be found watching his beloved Bengals from the sidelines or in front of the television screens at Wick’s Pizza in the Highlands, which he lovingly referred to as going to church.

Woody was a graduate of Oldham County High School class of ‘91 and attended Indiana University Southeast where he excelled at baseball and basketball.

In addition to his athletic achievements, Woody had a deep love for his family and friends. He cherished the time spent with his niece, Blair and nephew, Gunner.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Edward. Left behind to love and cherish memories are his devoted mother; Pamela Underwood, sister; Jill Kindrick (spouse, Hogan Kindrick), niece; Blair, nephew; Gunner, brother; Adam Underwood (spouse, Heather Herron), nieces; Emma and Brienne, sons; Austen and Ethan Hickman, grandson; Wyatt, and his biggest supporter and best friend; Tim Mueller, along with a large group of family and friends who love Woody.

A celebration of Woody’s life will be held on Sunday, April 7, noon — 5 p.m. at Wick’s Pizza, 975 Baxter Ave., Louisville, KY 40204. Please wear your Bengals orange and black as we “Who Dey!” to Woody one more time.
