A Crestwood family lost their home and four dogs to a fire last Monday.
Firefighters from South Oldham, Pewee Valley, La Grange and Worthington fire departments fought the blaze at the home of Kevin, Diane and Morgan Shaw on Floydsburg Road starting mid-afternoon and continuing well into the night.
Citing his appreciation for a community that welcomed him and his business more than a year ago, the owner of The Rawlings Group donated $100,000 each to the City of La Grange and Oldham County Fiscal Court Feb. 28 under a condition of anonymity.
Girl Scout Troop 173 recently visited the Lil’ Big Horse Trails horseback riding farm in La Grange. The University of Louisville women’s basketball team happened to be there and took a picture with the girls and the donkey from the farm. Troop 173 is made up of girls from Liberty, Goshen, and Harmony elementary schools.
In the face of a sound like this, all teaching must stop. Thursday morning, it seemed like every time Bill Young opened his mouth about logarithms or whatever it is that “x” is supposed to equal, a scraping sound like fingers on a blackboard drowned him out. Immediately on the other side of the wall from his whiteboard, construction crews cut steel beams as they construct a new walkway at North Oldham High School.
