    Billi Nicole Hazle of Lima, Ohio, daughter of Gary and Donna Baker Hazle Glanzman of Columbus, Ohio, and Kenneth Charles “Charlie” Dray, son of Roger and Rosemary Plaugher of Lima, and Robert Dray of Houston, announce their marriage on March 22, 2008 at Liberty Presbyterian Church in Columbus.

  • Master hip-hop Saturday with Miss Jackson’s choreographer

    A nationally acclaimed choreographer known for teaching his moves to Janet and Michael Jackson, plus Beyonce and Destiny’s Child, will host master hip-hop classes Saturday. 

    LaVelle Smith will teach classes from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. are for students ages 9 to 12, while classes from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. are offered for ages 13 and older.

  • Man charged for burglaries at State Farm Insurance, Radio Latina

    A La Grange man is charged with burglary after employees at State Farm Insurance and Radio Latina in La Grange reported more than $4,700 in stolen property. 

    Police arrested Jonathan P. Markle, 28, of La Grange, Dec. 20 for third-degree burglary and tampering with physical evidence.

  • Recycle unwanted electronics this weekend during Buckner event

    Need to dispose of that old Nintendo Game Cube or DVD player after getting a Wii and Blueray for Christmas? The Oldham County Recycling Center will host a special electronics recycling drop-off 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. This is in addition to the regular drop-off program during normal hours.

  • Dunlap powers Colonels

    BUCKNER – Oldham County’s Eric Dunlap showed his range Saturday to lead the Colonels to a 62-56 win over South Oldham.

    Dunlap, a 5-foot-11 senior guard, known more for his ability to break down defenses by slashing to the basket, hit three three-pointers in the fourth quarter including two in a row en route to a game-high 33 points.

  • Dump site is cleaned up

    What, a dump? All traces of a dumping site discovered by The Oldham Era on Commerce Parkway are now gone, thanks to a crew from Oldham County Solid Waste Department. 

    Crews from the Oldham County Solid Waste Department spent Tuesday morning cleaning the site. 

    The Oldham Era profiled the site in the Jan. 1 edition.

    More than 1,000 households in Oldham County will receive a public opinion survey this week.

    The survey is designed to gauge the public’s opinion on a proposed general aviation airport in the county.
