  • La Grange Police host annual awards ceremony

    Officer of the Year was awarded to Officer David Stratton in recognition of his outstanding dedication and commitment, as elected by his fellow officers.

    The Meritorious Service Award was presented to Officers Whitehill, Stratton, and Wolf for going above and beyond the call of duty in the course of their daily patrols.

    At 3104 Ridgemoor Court in Prospect, Bobbi Dewey and her daughters, Katarina and Alyssa, decorated the exterior of their home to look like a life-size gingerbread house. This is the fourth year the family has decorated the home this way and most of it is homemade. Using fake snow, glitter and shrink wrap helps keep everything wind- and waterproof.

  • Dancing Queens

    The North Oldham Middle School dance team attended Eastern High School’s Dance Expo on Dec. 6, competing with their hip hop and pom routine, winning first place in both. Members of the dance team are: Grace Aleksevitch, Holly Brink, Kylie Dombrosky, Savannah George, Cori Goodknight, Sarah Hare, Logan Hart, Brie Johnson, Tiera Lanham, Valeria Lopez, Chelsea Norton, Joanna Oser, Hannah Richardson, Kaitlynn Richardson, Alycia Spangler, Mackenzie Stegeman, Michaela Tong and Casey Wohlgemuth.

  • Fouch named to dean’s list at Lindsey Wilson College

    Sarah Fouch of Crestwood,  a freshman at Lindsey Wilson College studying elementary education, has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall semester.

    Students named to the dean’s list have a semester grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in 12 hours of academic credit.

    The South Oldham High School Debate Team competed at Waggener High School on Nov. 8. Jordan Yarberry was named runner-up for Best Overall Debater in the Novice Division. Also competing for SOHS were Alexis Miller and Adam Farr.
