Members of the Pewee Valley Fire Protection District will host the second-annual Spring Training 5K run/walk onApril 5. All proceeds from the event will again benefit the WHAS Crusade for Children.

Angela Vance, a sophomore elementary education major at Georgetown College from Pewee Valley prepares for the Belle of the Blue scholarship pageant, held Feb. 23 in the College’s John L. Hill Chapel. Representing the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, Vance is a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. She is also a Christian Leaders Scholar and a Freshman Family Group mom.

The Oldham County Public Library will award $600 in scholarship money to an outstanding student in the class of 2008. The aim of the scholarship is to reward students that have provided exemplary service in the school library media center or in the public library and have exhibited potential for accomplishment in the field of librarianship.

The Oldham County Chamber of Commerce will host the Showcase Oldham County kickoff luncheon at 11 a.m.
