LOUISVILLE – Grace Oglesby, like most talented swimmers in the Louisville area, said she knows the name of Mary T. Meagher.
The North Oldham sophomore will now get to see her name right alongside Meagher’s in the record books.
Oglesby won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.66 seconds Saturday in the Region 2 championships at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. That mark tied a regional record set by Meagher in 1982.
Meagher, who swam for Sacred Heart, went on to win three gold medals in the 1984 Summer Olympics and a bronze in 1988.
