    Steelworkers rallied Wednesday afternoon in protest of a lockout by their employer.

  • Wind rips roof from former Brownsboro restaurant

    Strong winds ripped the roof from the site of a former Brownsboro restuarant early Wednesday morning as a line of storms stretching from central Indiana to central Kentucky swept through Oldham County.

    A building that housed the Brownsboro Eatery on Ky. 329 in Crestwood lost more than a third of its roof at the height of the storm.

  • Downed power lines cause road closures

    Crews repairing downed power lines have closed several roads in Oldham County, including Dawkins Road between Ky. 146 and the Luther Luckett Correctional Facility, Ky. 2858 (Abbott Lane) about a half mile from Mt. Zion Road and Ky. 1793 at Spindletop subdivision in Goshen.

    Wendy's on Ky. 53 in La Grange was closed for part of Wednesday morning and afternoon following a grill fire.

  • Ky. 524 will be closed Saturday

    Ky. 524 will be closed three hours on Saturday morning to protect the safety of participants competing in a duathlon.

    The state department of highways will close Ky. 524 from 8 to 11 a.m. Saturday as the SOS/3 Way Racing Duathlon takes place.

    The event is a fundraiser for the Save Our Schoolhouse fund to renovate Westport's historic schoolhouse.

  • I-71 crash closes right lane

    Emergency crews are headed to the northbound lanes of Interstate 71 where a tractor-trailer has sideswiped a vehicle.

    The crash occured near milemarker 23 of I-71. Traffic is still moving, but the right lane is closed as crews work to clear the crash.

  • History center to feature roots music exhibit

    The Oldham County History Center will be host to "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music" starting in March 2012.

  • SOHS wins Valley tourney

    CRESTWOOD – It was another step forward for the South Oldham High School baseball team as they won the Valley Invitational over spring break.
    “It was good for us as young as we are,” SOHS coach Stephen Carter said. “We needed something like this, a boost for our confidence to get us a kick start.”
