Pollinators are in decline and need assistance. To help increase their habitat in the area, the Oldham County Conservation District will hold a field day on Saturday, May 14, from 1 to 3 p.m. to demonstrate how to establish a wildflower habitat for all pollinators.
A road that was both described as “one of the worst in the county,” and the “most beautiful country in this Commonwealth,” was debated for more than two hours during an Oldham County Fiscal Court meeting April 29.
A string of cigarette thefts have hit the Prospect Circle K, Police Chief Jeff Sherrard told Prospect’s City Council during their April 18 city council meeting.
The suspects work in groups of two or more. One enters a store and drops a case of beer to create a distraction, and while the attendant is cleaning up the mess, another suspect enters the store, takes as many cigarettes as possible and leaves.
Although Goshen City Commission voted unanimously during its March meeting to donate playground equipment permanently to Creasey Mahan Nature Preserve, the commission discussed during its most recent meeting, April 18, whether or not they would be footing the bill to move it all anyway.
Beginning May 1 and continuing through Sept. 30, open burning is prohibited in Oldham County, due to being designated by the Federal Environmental Protection Agency as “non-attainment” air quality for ozone and particulate matter because pollution levels have exceeded those permitted by the Clean Air Act.
