Oldham County Schools engineers are optimistic that Crestwood Elementary School and North Oldham High School’s gym will soon be ready for use. Crews are laying floor tiles and hanging ceiling tiles at the new Crestwood Elementary as they are near to finishing the interior, Oldham County Schools Director of Facilities Jim Ewalt said.
Members of the Oldham County Sewer District board have identified several items to be declared as surplus and sold.
OCSD Board Treasurer Amy Alvey said the surplus items include a copier, television, three lab tables with sinks and Sony and Toshiba laptop computers. All items she said she believes are purchased made 2004 or earlier.
After just three hours of collecting, workers turned cars away during the county’s household hazardous waste drop-off event Saturday at the Oldham County Fairgrounds.
Solid Waste Coordinator Linda Fountain said workers at the event saw 254 cars full of items for disposal before noon. Above, cars line up to drop off their hazardous materials and right, workers separate the materials.
