  • Oldham County EMS adds ambulance, opens two substations

    Oldham County EMS is opening two new substations this week, one in La Grange and another in Crestwood.
    The service is also adding an ambulance to both its day and overnight shifts.  
    Through a new agreement with Baptist Hospital Northeast, EMS personnel will be stationed near the hospital’s emergency room entrance on a fulltime basis.  

  • Motorcycle rider thrown from bike, trapped beneath car in Crestwood

    A Louisville man is dead after a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Ky. 146 and Floydburg Road in Crestwood late Monday night.

    The crash occurred about 10:15 p.m. Monday near the Oldham County Schools Arts Center and PNC Bank when a motorcycle traveling Ky. 146 collided with a sedan turning from Ky. 146 to Floydsburg Road (Ky. 1408).

  • Crash on U.S. 42 claims the life of Prospect man; two others airlifted to Louisville hospital

    Police are investigating the cause of a fatal crash near the intersection of U.S. 42 and Ky. 524 about 5 p.m. Sunday.

    Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford F-250 pick up truck was traveling westbound on U.S. 42 when the vehicle struck the guardrail on the northside of the roadway.  The truck exited off the southside of the road. 

  • Goshen man killed in ATV rollover crash

    A Goshen man died early Satuday morning when his ATV rolled over.

    Oldham County Police responded to the 7200 block of Oregon Creek Road about 2:45 a.m. Saturday following report of an ATV crash.

    Two men riding an ATV were thrown from the vehicle when it rolled over.

    The driver, 27-year-old Christopher Cox of Goshen, died in the crash.

  • Louisville Water Co. offers two free water tower tours

    Hundreds of Louisville residents have taken advantage of the Louisville Water Company's is FREE guided tours of the Historic Louisville Water Tower and Pumping Station at 3006 River Road.
    There are still two more opportunities to participate 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (July 16) and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday (July 19).

  • Sidewalks now required in new developoments

    The belief that sidewalks enhance a community will lead the future of development in Oldham County.
    A zoning ordinance now requires sidewalks for all new subdivision developments in Oldham County.
    The purpose of the sidewalk ordinance is to ensure connections to schools, parks, shopping facilities, green spaces and public recreation areas.

  • Crestwood man charged with murder plot in multistate biker gang

    A Crestwood man nicknamed "Pit Bull" who leads a Louisville chapter of a nationwide motorcycle gang known for organized crime appeared in federal court Wednesday afternoon.

    Carlos Wesley Rose, a corrections officer at the Kentucky State Reformatory in La Grange, is one of 18 members of the Wheels of Soul motorcycle gang indicted last month in St. Louis.

  • EMS will ask board to suspend changes later today

    The employee committee of Oldham County EMS will ask the board of directors  tonight to temporarily suspend proposed scheduling changes set to take effect at the end of the month.

    According to members of the committee, they hope that a delay will allow time for an in-depth study and analysis of the schedule and possible alternatives.

    A La Grange mother of three had no idea that changing her eating habits a year ago would land her a spot on TV and in a national magazine.
    Lorie Weires joined Weight Watchers in June 2010 and has lost 55 pounds since.
    Weires, who owns a photography business, has spent years on the other side of the lens.

  • La Grange man remembered as 'Vegas Dave' for his spirit

    A 24-year-old man died Monday morning when his vehicle collided with a box truck on Mount Zion Road.
    According to police, David A. Whitney’s Ford Escort collided head-on with an International  box truck about 10:35 a.m. July 4 near the intersection of Speer Lane and West Mount Zion Road in Crestwood.
    The county coroner pronounced Whitney dead at the scene.
