  • Trick-or-Treating Times Have Changed!

    From Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele: “Given the predicted severity of weather tomorrow evening during the time usually associated with Halloween, Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele has asked that trick-or-treating in the county be postponed until Friday evening. The mayors of the cities of LaGrange, Crestwood, Goshen, Orchard Grass and Pewee Valley have also asked that parents and children move trick-or-treating activity to Friday evening.”

    La Grange Police Dept. Arrests

    10-23-13, Savannah D. Richardson, 20, LaGrange, was cited and released for shoplifting at Walmart.  The charge is TBUT or Disp Shoplifting U/$500.  Her amt was $43.97.  All items were returned.

    10-22-13 Gary L. Donovan, 37, LaGrange, was arrested for Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place at 12:56 a.m.

  • Child struck by car

    A ten-year-old child remains in criticial condition following a car accident Friday night.

    According to La Grange Police, shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday the child was crossing the road in front of the La Grange Community Center on West Jefferson Street when he was hit by a Dodge Neon. The driver,  who police declined to name, stated she was unable to avoid a collision and struck the juvenile with the front of her car. 

  • School board hears alternatives to redistricting proposal

    With one month until the school board votes on new redistricting boundaries for elementary, middle and high schools, two alternative proposals have been added to the mix.

    Both of the new proposals are variants of the original final proposal, which took the northeast portion of the county and redistricted it to the Buckner campus of schools. The area is currently sent to the North campus of schools.

  • Drug take back event a success

    Oldham County’s latest drug take back event netted an estimated 50 pounds of pills from residents.

    The Oldham County Sheriff’s Office coordinated the latest take back event, held last Saturday at La Grange Fire Department Station 2 in Buckner.

    The event is part of a national drug take back event sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Agency a couple times every year.
