Fuel and oil for Oldham County Road Department vehicles will now be supplied by companies in neighboring counties.

The Oldham County Fiscal Court unanimously approved bids from Southern Petroleum Inc. in Pendleton to supply diesel fuel to the road department. Oil for the department’s vehicles will be supplied by Louisville-based Apollo Oil.

Oldham County Judge-Executive David Voegele has signed off on a new contract to haul away the county’s recyclable materials.

A two-year contract with Republic Services Corporation began Friday. The company will haul recyclables that residents drop into self-serve containers at the Oldham County Recycling Center in Buckner.

Long-time staff member Greg Allen has been selected as campus pastor for the Oldham campus of Southeast Christian Church in Crestwood.

Allen has been on staff with the church for 30 years and served in capacities such as student pastor, worship pastor, lead team pastor and now, campus pastor in Oldham County.

Parent input will play a major role in determining which Oldham County school students will attend as part of a new redistricting process.

The process is unlike any other in the area and will begin with an initial round of public forums March 26-28.

Because of changing enrollments and facility changes, Oldham County Schools officials are planning to redistrict students before the 2014-15 school year.
