  • KSP Valedictorian

    La Grange resident Whitney Lyell (center) received a valedictorian certificate from Kentucky State Police Lt. Col. Brad Bates (right) and Law Enforcement Training Instructor Jason Long (left) during graduation ceremonies for the sixth class of the KSP Telecommunications Academy in Frankfort on May 22. A telecommunicator at KSP 5 in Campbellsburg, Lyell completed the six-week course with an overall average of 99 percent. She is the daughter of Darrel and Cami Lyell of Sulphur.   • American Legion meeting

    The monthly meeting of the Oldham County Post 39 American Legion will be held on the first Thursday of each month. The June 4 meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the American Legion Post #39 building located on 2301 West Highway 146 in the eastern end of Oldham County Fair Grounds in La Grange. Refreshments will be avaialble after the meeting. All veterans are welcome.

  • Crestwood Civic Club

     The club cordially invites you to the annual Garden Tour and Luncheon on Saturday, June 30 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Luncheon seating held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. with a plant sale held at the clubhouse on 7219 Kavanaugh Road in Crestwood.

  • A family ripped apart by abuse

    By now, most locals have heard the story of two La Grange children that were kidnapped by their father in May, but what most don’t know is this case has an even longer history of violence and misfortune.
    The La Grange Police Department responded to a report of two missing children, Alex and Ethan Gutierrez, at approximately 8 p.m. on May 31 at the McDonald’s in La Grange.

  • Local nurse practitioner inducted into national organization

    The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) recently selected 70 nurse practitioner (NP) leaders for induction to the FAANP during the AANP National Conference. Among the 70 to receive this prestigious honor were four Kentucky nurse practitioners—Elizabeth Partin, Sharon Lock, Julianne Ewen and Kit Devine.
