Sometimes a blackout is needed to highlight a potentially dangerous situation, such as the Oldham County Jail losing power last week during the bad thunderstorms that shook southern Indiana and Metro Louisville.
Even though a generator should have kicked in so that the jail maintained power, it failed to operate for a short time.

An Oldham County returned a verdict Friday in favor of The Rawlings Company, in a class action brought against Rawlings and its founder George Rawlings on behalf of current and former medical claims auditors.  

Just in time to grace midsummer wedding invitations, the U.S. Postal Service will issue a Garden of Love stamp on Monday from a scenic Crestwood location known for lush gardens and picturesque celebrations.
The Garden of Love  includes 10 different first-class stamps depicting a colorful mosaic of flora and fauna in a garden setting.

Pewee Valley city officials unanimously approved Paige Bjorn’s appointment to the county’s board of adjustment and appeals earlier this month.
Bjorn, a Pewee Valley resident since 1998, works in real estate and is the treasurer of the Rosswoods homeowners’ association.
Bjorn fills the seat of the late Matthew “Doc” Stuedle.
