9,100 cars missing from Central Ave. count

A report issued Feb. 7 by the Kentucky Department of Highways states that the traffic count on Pewee Valley’s Central Avenue railroad crossing is closer to 10,000 vehicles per day, rather than a previously reported count of 900 cars per day.

Maintenance of local street is falling through the cracks

Five Forks Drive in Pewee Valley has spent the last 40 years as a crumbling, privately-owned, pothole-laden path.
The road’s northern extension is littered with gravel and moldering asphalt, and large slabs of topcoat have worn away to expose a disintegrating foundation.

$600K ruling against OCPD weighs heavy on budget

A federal jury has ruled that the Oldham County Police Department discriminated against a Ky. National Guardsman in 2008 when officials cited his commitment to military service as the reason for withdrawing a job offer.

It's a $600,000 mistake, and only half is covered by the county's insurance.

Nay steps down from La Grange council

The Oldham Era received a letter from La Grange resident Wally Nay on Friday morning indicating that a health condition has forced him to make a tough decision.

Nay has had a long career in public service and law enforcement in Oldham County. But an ischemic stroke recently has forced him to resign from the La Grange City Council.
